386. ADAS scenarios introduction
Powered by the Foretify Safety-Driven V&V platform, the ADAS library offers Automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and AV developers a comprehensive suite of tools designed to ensure safety, reduce development costs, and accelerate time-to-market for ADAS and Automated Driving Systems (ADS). By enabling seamless integration of virtual testing into the CI/CD development flow, the library allows users to quickly scale up and stress-test systems within the targeted Operational Design Domain (ODD).
The library includes over 20 pre-built scenarios for a wide range of ADAS functions, along with the flexibility to define custom maps and scenarios. These pre-built and user-defined scenarios enable in-depth evaluation of system performance and reliability across diverse real-world driving conditions. This ensures that ADAS systems are rigorously tested, validated, and optimized for safety and effectiveness before deployment.
The Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) library components are located in $FTX_PACKAGES/adas as shown in Figure 1.
The subdirectories within the ADAS directory are listed in the following table:
| Directory/File | Description |
|---|---|
| ACC | Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) automatically maintains a set cruise speed provided by the driver and adjusts the speed of the Ego (Vehicle under test) to match that of the Lead vehicle |
| AEB | Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) automatically applies maximum braking pressure to stop the Ego in case of an obstacle or potential collision |
| ALCA | The Active Lane Change Assist (ALCA) automatically performs safe lane changes when the turn indicator is activated |
| BSM | Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) warns the driver of vehicles in their blind spot or alongside the vehicle |
| ESA | Emergency Steering Assist (ESA) assists the driver in extreme steering maneuvers when avoiding an obstacle |
| ISA | Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) assists the driver by providing information about current applicable speed limits |
| LCA | Lane Centering Assist (LCA) automatically keeps the Ego centered in the lane and follows gentle turns on highways |
| LSS | Lane Support Systems (LSS) assists the driver in staying safely in a lane or performing safe lane changes |
| NCAP | New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) helps to evaluate and access automobile performance against various safety threats |
