92. Synthetic Data Generation Pipeline Overview
The Synthetic Data Generation pipeline enables you to generate realistic sensor-level data from existing test runs in Foretify Manager. You start from runs that have already been executed, select the scenarios you want, and then generate sensor data from those runs using one of several supported simulation environments.
92.1 Prerequisites
Before using the Synthetic Data Generation pipeline, verify the following:
- You have a Foretify Manager account.
- The Sensor Sim service is installed and configured. For details, see Installing and Configuring the Sensor Sim Service.
- The Synthetic Data Generation tool is enabled. For details, see Enable the Synthetic Data Generation tool.
- Your project has access to at least one simulation environment (Cosmos, NuRec, or SensorRTX).
- The simulation environment backend services are running and reachable from Foretify Manager.
- S3-compatible storage is configured for simulation assets and results. For details, see Integrate with AWS S3 Cloud Storage.
92.2 Supported simulation environments
The Synthetic Data Generation pipeline supports the following sensor simulation platforms:
| Platform | Description |
|---|---|
| Cosmos | Generative AI-based sensor simulation |
| NuRec | Neural rendering-based reconstruction from real-world data |
| Omniverse SensorRTX | Physics-based sensor simulation using ray tracing |
Sensors and Ego vehicles are specific to a single simulation environment and cannot be shared across environments. For details, see Sensor Sim Plan Simulation environments.
